Jesus and the Little Children

This is intended as a joyful scene, set in dappled sunlight. Christ welcomes the children with laughter. Unfortunately, the happiness of the moment is lost on the three Apostles, here depicted. Standing with their arms outstretched, they are trying, rather ineffectually, to prevent the children from disturbing Jesus.
Rather than asking and listening to what Jesus wants, they have decided themselves and are now imposing their decision with determination.
